The logo was inspired by the 2015 General Chapter’s theme Sentinels of the Dawn Fashioning Evangelical Community. The major idea is that the Crosiers, especially the younger generation, are called to be as Psalm 130 affirms the sentinels of the dawn. To these sentinels, the future of our Order is trusted.
The red and white crosier cross, in the center of the image, makes a reference to Crosier religious life, where Crosiers live in one mind and heart intend upon to God (Rule of Augustine, 3).
The sun on the back of the image brings the sense of the new that is coming. The sentinels are invited keep watching and discerning the signs of the time in order to build a consistent crosier life that the down will be welcomed.
The opened book is a reference to the Gospel. In the Gospel the sentinels are invited to shape their lives finding the deeper meaning of their vocation as crosiers. From Constitutions 2.2, we read that the Crosier is called to “… fidelity to the Cross most especially in our dedication to fashioning a truly evangelical community through our acceptance of our life and work, and in our apostolic presence where human and religious needs call out to us.”
The young friend of the Crosiers in Campo Belo, Isaías Costa – married and his first daughter was born few month ago – is a member of the lay movement Cursillos in Christianity. He said that he was happy serve the Crosiers in designing the logo for the 2015 General Chapter.
